Role Summary

Title: SEO Copywriter

Reporting Line: Head of SEO

You will sit within the SEO team and your focus will be researching, planning, editing, and creating content with the sole aim of increasing our client’s SEO visibility.

MAIN TASKS INCLUDE

  • Researching and creating content that is highly engaging
  • Optimising current client content to ensure its SEO compliant
  • Edit content produced by third party suppliers to ensure consistency and quality
  • Working within our clients’ CMS’s to build new pages and upload content
  • Attending meetings, writing notes and ensuring WIP’s are up to date.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Research

  • Understand client goals and research the type of content required to hit those goals
  • Use various tools to understand; what keywords we need to target, what topics are topical, what articles are gaining traction (links, social shares, etc.), what content competitors are producing
  • Content in vertical specialisms that need detailed research including but not limited to, finance, legal and business

Editorial

  • When required outsource work to a bank of external writers
  • Check external writers’; content; spelling, grammar, brand guidelines and voice

Production

  • Based on direction provided by client and or account management produce quality content that fits client targets
  • Work with client to produce blog / informational content that is both topical and informative
  • Work with client to increase the quality of the product and service page content to: increase conversion rates, improve SEO rankings and to increase readability
  • Work with internal team to build content that is highly distributable with the aim of obtaining back links
  • Write SEO tags; alt tags, internal links, meta descriptions, title tags and heading tags

CSM

  • Correcting existing content to be more SEO friendly
  • Accessing CMS’s, building new pages within the existing framework
  • Uploading new content and meta data

Team

  • Build internal relationships
  • Ensure efficient working with other team members
  • Uploading new content and meta data

Learning

  • Continue to improve and build on content and SEO skills
  • As well as learning on the job, read and pay attention to industry publications
  • Become highly skilled in Google Analytics, Excel and all industry accepted tool



Success Measurement

  • Client satisfaction and commentary
  • Increase rankings and organic visibility of client websites
  • Having content naturally drive inbound links

Prior Experience & Qualifications

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • One to four years of experience working in a similar role
  • Production of content to aid SEO rankings
  • Experience working within several popular CMS’s

NICE TO HAVE

  • A degree in either English, Communication, PR or Journalism
  • Experience of working with SEO Surfer, Google Analytics, Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, Buzz Sumo
  • Client services experience

  • Base salary – based on experience
